Today, a client emailed me, saying:
“Hi Caroline,
It is exciting to be learning so much and to see all these different strands coming together. You really were right when you said before that when you put yourself out there, the universe starts bringing the right opportunities and people on your path.“
The wonderful thing about the work I do is I get to see this be true, over and over again.
Clients come to me when they are discouraged, frustrated, or vaguely dissatisfied, knowing they want to do something different or better, but sometimes not knowing what that is.
Except everyone always knows what it is, deep down.
We all know what we really want to do, somewhere deep inside of us, and it’s my job to provide the tools, insight, and experience to help clients navigate within in order to find the path to their greatest satisfaction.
The cool thing is, as clients begin to work through the process, inevitably – without a doubt – doors begin to open and the path begins to light up before them.
Over and over, my clients find that they meet new people, come across new information, and find new momentum that helps to propel them toward opportunities and insight about the field that is right for them.
Working as a career coach for almost a decade, I’ve come to believe that we all have gifts, and that these gifts are meant to be given.
Some people worry that following their dreams is selfish, but those dreams, fulfilled, will bring joy, beauty, and dimension to the world.
Consider the (very real) possibility that the Universe wants you to do the work of your heart and will help you along the way, if you gather the courage to take the first steps.
Your gifts – whatever they are – were given to you so that you could give them to others.
And you don’t have to become famous or be the very best in order to do so.
Even if there is someone – one person! – out there who will deeply appreciate and be positively impacted by what you do, isn’t it worth it, if you are doing it from your heart?
(Cause you’ll be happy and that person will be happy and the people around you will become happier, too, due to your happiness, and you don’t even know the ripple effect your good actions will have).
Remember: it’s not selfish to do what you love – it gives your best to the world, and that is just what the world needs.
I promise you that once you begin searching for the work of your heart, the road will rise up to meet you.
One step at a time toward a better life for you and a happier world overall.
